Clive Jones, the Liberal Democrat MP for Wokingham, visited the Pinewood Centre in Wokingham Without for a constituency surgery and a guided tour of the activity centre that hosts top sports teams.
He was shown around by councillors Nicholas Martin and Lesley Foxwell, chair and vice-chair of Wokingham Without Parish Council, which manages the site.
They visited the popular Pinewood Café and tried to chat with Charlie, the resident parrot, but he was shy.
"I had a wonderful time visiting the Pinewood Centre and seeing the excellent facilities and opportunities available to local residents.
"It was also great to meet residents at my surgery and catch up with the chair and vice chair of WWPC to discuss the important role Pinewood plays in the community."
Cllr Martin said: "I thought it went very well, we were very happy for him to host his recent surgery there, we took the opportunity to show him some of the clubs.
"It's a gem for the local community, the gym club and the judo club were at the Olympics.
"We visited the Pinewood Café and said hello to the local parrot, but he was a bit shy!"
The visit took place on Wednesday, August 19.
