A neighbour in Bracknell has blasted the loud noise coming from a music event to celebrate the anniversary of The Lexicon.
A Bracknell neighbour has complained about the loud noise from a music event celebrating the anniversary of The Lexicon.
The regenerated town centre, which opened in September 2017, has hosted annual celebrations ever since.
This year, the event featured performances from local bands, choirs, and X Factor star Danyl Johnson, drawing hundreds to Bond Square.
However, a resident from Horsneile Lane voiced her frustrations about the noise levels, stating, "It was unacceptably loud and a noise disturbance; hardly anyone was informed about it." She added, "The sound is travelling for miles. I initially had no idea what it was, it was unbearable."
She described the noise as an "inaudible mess," claiming that it forced residents out of their homes and suggested the volume should be reduced to be more acceptable. "If I wanted to hear music from my home, I would move to Glastonbury," she remarked.
While the neighbour asserted that hundreds complained, this claim was unverified by shopping centre management or Bracknell Forest Council.
Tom Henderson, centre director at The Lexicon, responded, saying, “Live at The Lexicon is a popular family event. We received one complaint about the noise and apologised at the time. The event finished at 8.30 pm.” A council spokesperson confirmed they had received no noise complaints.
