New Curry Spot Bagaara Opens in Reading!

A new curry restaurant has celebrated a successful opening in Reading.

A new curry restaurant has opened in Reading, bringing excitement to local food lovers.

Bagaara Indian restaurant, located on Shinfield Road, celebrated its launch on Friday, September 12, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, drinks, a tasting showcase of signature dishes, and live entertainment.

This is the second Bagaara in the UK, following the original in Leeds, which shares a connection with Reading through the popular Reading & Leeds Festivals.

Kiran Chintala, co-founder, said, “We chose Reading and Leeds because we live in those areas. The Leeds branch has been a hit, achieving over 5,000 Instagram followers in just a year.” He added, “We want to bring the same high-quality food and recipes to Reading.”

Situated at 256 Shinfield Road, near the Reading-Wokingham border, Bagaara offers a convenient dining option for residents of Earley and Shinfield, avoiding the crowded town centre.

Chintala noted, “Parking is much easier here compared to the town centre, making it more accessible for customers.”

Bagaara is known for its authentic Indian dishes, including a unique lamb brain dish called bheja fry, which Chintala describes as having a scrambled egg-like texture, spiced to perfection.

“We aim to stand out from the competition in the area, especially since there are few proper Indian restaurants towards Wokingham,” he stated.

Deliveries will be available through a combination of their staff and services like Uber Eats. Partner Rajesh Akula commented, “I’ve sampled many local restaurants, but I believe ours is the best, offering chicken liver, various fish, and vegan options.”

Bagaara has received a licence to serve alcohol from 12pm to 11pm daily, following a consultation with no objections. The restaurant has taken over the space formerly occupied by Firezza, which closed in 2023.
