A huge golf club near Ascot could be creating an American gold rush-themed adventure course in the near future.
A golf club near Ascot is set to introduce an American gold rush-themed adventure course.
The Lavender Park Golf Centre, opposite Lapland UK, already boasts a nine-hole course, a driving range, a sports bar, and a golf shop.
Plans have been submitted for an adventure course to be built between the competition course and the driving range, featuring elements like rocks reminiscent of Monument Valley, a steam train, a stagecoach, a settler's wagon, and a mine.
The Lavender Park website describes the course as "fun, family-friendly, and environmentally sensitive," aimed at becoming a new local attraction.
A planning agent from Saturn Rock explained, "The adventure golf course aims to enhance the business's economic viability, targeting families and younger audiences who may not engage with traditional golf." They believe this will increase visitor numbers and revenue.
The course will operate from 9am to 9pm during summer, with shorter hours in winter. Plans include expanding the car park to accommodate 40 regular spaces and an accessible one, along with 20 cycle spaces. However, this will involve removing two Cypress trees and a Scots Pine, though the Pine will be replanted.
The proposal is with Bracknell Forest Council, and Winkfield Parish Council has requested that the removed trees be replaced and a light pollution strategy be developed.
The Lavender Park club can be accessed via the B3107 Swinley Road, connecting to the A322 King’s Ride and A329 London Road.
