Bracknell KFC Seeks Late-Night Drive-Thru Licence

KFC on Bagshot Road in Bracknell has applied to keep its drive-thru open until 2am; a licensing panel at Bracknell Forest Council will decide at 6pm on Wednesday (June 10).

The restaurant currently opens 7am to 11pm. Planning permission for extended hours has already been granted, but a separate premises licence is needed for the late drive-thru.

Daytime pedestrian and cycle access is from the west and via a subway linking Nightingale Crescent, Hunter Way and Elizabeth Close. At night, vehicle access is limited: cars can only enter northbound from Birch Hill and the Sports Centre; southbound traffic must take a longer route.

Two residents formally objected, raising concerns about noise and safety. Paul Blackmore warned: "There may be a higher likelihood of reckless driving, congestion, and accidents, particularly as drivers may be fatigued or under the influence."

Another resident, father of three Mr Hieu Nguyen, said extended hours would increase noise and disturbance, telling councillors: "As a local resident, I am concerned about the potential negative impact this extensions could have on our community. "I believe that extending the business hours could disrupt the peace and quiet of our neighbours."

The panel will consider the council's licensing objectives, including the prevention of crime and disorder, public nuisance and protection of public safety. A decision is expected after the hearing this evening.
