Bracknell Roads Set for Major Revamp!

Bracknell roads are set for a multi-million-pound resurfacing and maintenance programme.

Bracknell Forest Council has a £7.712 million plan, with more than £4 million going on road surface replacement and treatments to properly maintain the highway. The programme was agreed by the ruling Labour cabinet at its meeting on Tuesday, March 16. Andrew Hunter, the council’s executive director for place, said more than 70 per cent of the funding has come from external sources. The majority is from Department for Transport grants, with the council also contributing £2.2 million from its capital budget.

Road surface replacement (£3.190m)

• Binfield North & Warfield West: B3034 Forest Road – Benetfeld Road to boundary; Randall Mead – rumble strip to end; Terrace Road North – Wicks Green to Church Hill; Terrace Road South – Cressex Close to Haddenhurst Court.
• Binfield South & Jennetts Park: A329 Berkshire Way – Doncastle Road to boundary; Popeswood Road – London Road to St Marks Road; Western Road/Cain Road roundabout (also in Priestwood & Garth).
• Bullbrook: Hawkins Close – rumble strip to end.
• Crowthorne: Alcot Close – rumble strip to end; Brookers Corner (Crowthorne) – Bracknell Road to Upper Broadmoor Road; Old Wokingham Road – Great Hollands to Buckler Ride; Old Wokingham Road – Nine Mile Ride to Hatch Ride; A321 Wokingham Road – Dukes Ride to Ambarrow Lane, Sandhurst.
• Easthampstead & Wildridings: Aldworth Close – rumble strip to end.
• Great Hollands: Great Hollands Road – Ringmead to Hanworth roundabout; B3430 Nine Mile Ride – Old Wokingham Road to Buckler Ride, Crowthorne.
• Priestwood & Garth: Easthampstead Road – Downshire Way to Western Road; Western Road – Downshire Way to Downmill Road; Western Road/Cain Road roundabout (also in Binfield South & Jennetts Park).
• Winkfield & Warfield East: Cricketers Lane – Forest Road to Bracknell Road.
• Sandhurst: A321 Wokingham Road – Dukes Ride, Crowthorne to Ambarrow Lane; A321 Yorktown Road – High Street to Crowthorne Road.

Road surface treatments (£1.350m)

• Binfield South & Jennetts Park: A3095 Mill Lane – Twin Bridges to Great Hollands roundabout (also in Easthampstead & Wildridings and Great Hollands).
• Binfield North & Warfield West: A330 Ascot Road – Maidenhead Road to Kingscroft Lane (also in Winkfield & Warfield East); Howe Lane – Twyford Road to boundary; Malt Hill – Ascot Road to Bracknell Road (also in Winkfield & Warfield East).
• Winkfield & Warfield East: A330 Cocks Lane – Kingscroft Lane to Maidens Green; A330 Kingscroft Lane – Ascot Road to Cocks Lane; Winkfield Lane – Moat Farm Close to Drift Road.
