Bracknell's New Health Centre Construction Progresses

Plans are progressing for a new health centre in the heart of Bracknell.

Plans are moving ahead for a new health centre in Bracknell and several other local planning decisions have been approved.

Progress on new health centre (Bracknell app 25/00111/COND)

Work is under way on a health centre at Skimped Hill, near the town centre. Bracknell Forest Council has approved details of pedestrian access, bicycle parking and landscaping. Construction began in December 2024, with the aim for the project to be completed last year, but there’s no mention of an opening date or evidence the centre is taking patients yet.

Changes to plan for six homes in Ascot (Bracknell app 24/00783/FUL)

Plans to build six homes at a woodland site near Ascot now include different house designs and materials. The scheme would see Long Croft in Warfield Park demolished to make way for the six homes. Satellite images show groundworks have been carried out, and development company Miles Builders has won permission for the revised designs. The previous site owners won an appeal to get the development approved in 2022 after the council failed to decide in time.

Vent for historic house approved (Wokingham app 252607)

A retrospective permission has been granted for a vent at The Elms, a Grade II* listed 16th-century townhouse in Wokingham town centre. The building, previously offices, was converted into seven luxury apartments about a decade ago, and the owner of one flat has won retrospective permission for the insertion of a vent.

Plan to replace bungalow with new home in village approved (Wokingham app 251912)

An owner in Heath Ride, Finchampstead, has permission to replace a bungalow with a new four‑bedroom, three‑storey home (including a basement and two carports). The project involves demolishing the existing bungalow, a garage and an outbuilding; a Wokingham planning officer judged the plan compliant with local and national policies, and it was approved on January 12.

You can view each application by typing the reference in brackets into the relevant council’s planning portal.
