Busy Bees has hit back at claims its new Binfield nursery will cause traffic problems when it opens this summer. The centre will be at Ashlyn House on Terrace Road North, at the site of a former vets.
The firm says the nursery will provide a "Our nursery will provide a safe, nurturing and enriching environment for up to 75 children."
A neighbour next door complained about "ongoing construction activity, noise on Sunday mornings", loud music, onsite conduct, litter and building debris. They also raised worries about the effect on nearby listed building The Terrace, which Historic England dates to the fifteenth century.
The resident asked the council to act: "We respectfully request that the Planning, Enforcement, Environmental Health and Highways teams review the matters raised and confirm how these issues will be monitored going forward."
Busy Bees’ representatives say there is ample parking and that drop-offs are spread between 8am and 9.30am. In a statement, director Sarah O'Connor added: "We can't wait to open our brand-new Binfield nursery and bring high quality early years education to families in the area."
She said building work is on track for a summer opening. The nursery will provide NHS-accredited menus prepared on-site and use Busy Bees’ Bee Curious curriculum to support children’s learning.
