West Berkshire Council has obtained an interim injunction from the High Court in relation to the unauthorised traveller site south of Reading Road (near the AWE site in Aldermaston).
The order, granted on Friday, December 19, restricts further development and additional residential occupation on the land while the council progresses with ongoing planning enforcement investigations. The council says the action has been taken to protect the local environment, prevent further unauthorised works, and ensure compliance with national planning legislation.
“We are committed to taking proportionate but firm action where planning control is being breached,” said Heather Codling, deputy leader of West Berkshire Council. “Securing this injunction ensures that no further unauthorised development can lawfully take place while the matter is before the court.”
The case will return to the High Court on January 12, 2026, where the injunction will be reviewed.
