Councillor Moves to Chichester, Stays Committed

A long-serving councillor remains committed to his duties to represent residents as he prepares to move to Chichester.

Long-serving councillor Marc Brunel-Walker is moving to Chichester but remains dedicated to his residents. With 22 years of experience, he spent 20 years on Bracknell Forest Council as a Conservative councillor for Crown Wood.

Brunel-Walker played a key role in the Bracknell town centre redevelopment, including the successful launch of The Lexicon in 2017. After retiring from Bracknell Forest Council in 2023, he switched to the Liberal Democrats and was elected to represent Wokingham Without on Wokingham Borough Council in 2024.

Living in Crowthorne for 18 years, he announced his family's move to Chichester on Facebook. He stated, "We have purchased a new family home in Chichester, but I will still be staying in the area and am in the process of buying a property." He reassured residents, saying he will continue to be active in the community, attending meetings and managing local concerns.

Brunel-Walker recently conducted a ward walkabout, addressing issues like damaged verges and road repairs. He chairs the community and corporate overview and scrutiny committee and runs Facebook groups such as 'We Love Crowthorne Village' with 26,000 members, and 'Residents of Wokingham Without' with 758 members.

Chichester, known for its cathedral and Roman walls, is 60 miles from Crowthorne. The city recently saw a shift in political power, with the Liberal Democrats taking control of Chichester District Council in 2023.
