Domestic related crimes have risen by 13 per cent over the last 12 months to August in West Berkshire.
Domestic crimes in West Berkshire have surged by 13% in the last year, reaching a staggering 1,620 incidents, up from 1,438. This is the highest rise in the Thames Valley.
Knife crime has also seen an uptick, with incidents rising from 37 to 47, marking the biggest percentage increase in the region. However, that translates to less than one additional incident per month, despite a notable spike in February, where eight cases were reported.
Additionally, antisocial behaviour reports increased by 10%, mainly in community-related incidents. Fortunately, this remains one of the lowest figures across the region.
These statistics were shared by Thames Valley Police during a presentation to West Berkshire Council's scrutiny committee.
