Drive-thru 'pod' plans held up (PL/25/1510 and PL/25/1712)
The Cube Real Estate company won permission for a drive-thru 'pod' on grassland off Scours Lane, near the Norcot junction and the Stadium Way Industrial Estate, after an appeal to the planning inspectorate was approved in Spring 2024. But the project is currently being held up because Reading Borough Council has refused the detailed plans for the external materials and the hard and soft landscaping.
Extensions to Caversham home approved (PL/25/1524)
A couple who own a bungalow on Conisboro Way in Caversham Heights have been granted permission for an extension and two outbuildings under permitted development rights. One outbuilding will provide a hobby room, an office and a study; the other will be a greenhouse. The owners had a separate plan for a state-of-the-art modern home rejected in 2024, with an appeal dismissed last May.
Office conversion into three flats (PL/24/1409)
The owner of Havell House on Queens Road has permission to convert the second floor into three flats: one one‑bed and two two‑bed apartments. The building, occupied by Transform Cosmetic Surgery and The Free Test Company, already had permission in October 2024 to convert the third floor into two flats.
New windows for historic house approved (PL/25/0289 and PL/25/0290)
Details for replacement windows at a Grade II listed house on London Road in East Reading have been approved. The house, dating from the 1800s, has consent for conservation‑style double‑glazed windows that were first approved in April 2023.
