The organisers of a winter light trail coming to Reading town centre soon are gearing up for the event to take place.
Excitement is building for Illuminate Reading, a brand new winter light trail set to brighten up Reading town centre.
Taking place at Forbury Gardens and the Abbey Ruins, this event features stunning light displays, an ambient light tunnel, and a dedicated food and drink area.
According to the What’s On Reading website, visitors can expect a magical experience that takes them on a 30 to 50 minute journey through beautifully lit installations, transforming the park into a glowing winter wonderland.
Midway through the trail, a food court will serve up sweet treats and warming drinks like mulled wine and hot chocolate. Plus, at the start, you can toast marshmallows to enhance your visit.
Illuminate Reading runs from Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, January 4, 2026. In preparation, organisers have applied to Reading Borough Council for a licence to sell alcohol, including mulled wine, from 4pm to 9.30pm daily.
A consultation on this application is currently open, with responses accepted via email at licensing@reading.gov.uk until the deadline of October 20.
