New Road in Greenham will now be closed for a further four months – prompting outcry from locals.
New Road in Greenham will remain closed for an additional four months, causing frustration among locals.
Thames Water is currently repairing sewers to address potential pollution between Burys Bank Road and Greyberry Copse Road.
The road has been shut since September 17, with initial completion projected for the end of October.
However, West Berkshire Council has been informed that the closure will now extend until March next year.
Phil Barnett, a local Lib Dem councillor, expressed his anger, stating, “I’m thoroughly disgusted with Thames Water. To take 14 months to complete this work is totally unacceptable. Residents will endure more disruption to their lives for a further five months.”
