A neighbour has expressed frustration over ‘never being consulted’ on changes to a home and a hotel in a suburban village north of Bracknell.
A neighbour in Binfield, north of Bracknell, is frustrated over a lack of consultation regarding extensions to the White Gates Hotel, which has recently been converted into a home and B&B.
Previously used as offices, the hotel was transformed in 2006, but plans to expand it further have sparked discontent among local residents. The proposed extensions include adding side and rear sections to create an office and enlarge living spaces, approved by Bracknell Forest Council in July 2022.
Steph Walker, a resident of nearby Woodies Close, claims she and other neighbours were not consulted about the changes, raising concerns about the impact on parking. "Parking is already severely limited, and this proposal will worsen congestion," she said, mentioning her legal team is looking into challenging the approval.
To alleviate parking issues, the project includes a new parking space at the front of White Gates. The previous extension plan was denied, and questions have been raised with the council about monitoring the current development.
