New Budgens Store Opens in Ascot!

Budgens opens at former Londis on New Road, North Ascot

A shop and post office at 140-142 New Road, North Ascot, has been converted from a Londis run by shopkeeper Roli Ranger into a Budgens convenience store. The grand opening took place on Friday 20 March.

The new store includes a bakery and kitchen area, Cook frozen meals, a regular range of convenience foods and the Post Office counter.

On Facebook the store said: "We're proud to be part of the neighbourhood! Budgens Ascot is now open and stocked with the best local goodies and everyday essentials. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or doing the weekly shop, we’ve got you covered. See you in the aisles!"

The first 100 customers received a free Costa Coffee Express drink as a welcome offer.

Local shopper Ann Scott posted: "Just been in to collect my paper, which they had ready! The shop looks fabulous and I love the fresh food area, will be buying a pizza there soon. It’s very well laid out. Well done Budgens!"

Gemma Bennett, a member of the management team, mentioned the store comes with a 'beer cave', which keep drinks nice and cool, ready for consumption.

The store opens at 7am on weekdays and 8am at weekends, and closes at 10pm.

The Londis closed on Saturday 14 February for a five-week conversion and refurbishment. Both the Londis and Budgens brands are owned by Booker Group, though individual sites are independently owned by shopkeepers.

Other Budgens stores are in Eaton, Windsor and Maidenhead, with Shell Lightfoots sites in Binfield and Harmans Water also trading under the group.
