New HQ Will Create 155 Jobs in Theale

Planning permission has been granted for the major extension and redevelopment of New Aquitaine House in Theale, paving the way for a major logistics company to establish a new headquarters at the site.

Planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of New Aquitaine House in Theale, allowing a major logistics company to set up its new headquarters.

Construction is set to create 155 jobs over 46 weeks, with more than 140 permanent roles once the facility is operational.

Cube Cold, which offers temperature-controlled logistics across Europe, will operate in the UK through Reading-based Pulleyn, serving sectors like medical and fine art.

The new 10,155 sqm facility will include extended warehouse and office space, with plans for partial demolition of the existing structure, improved access routes, landscaping, and modernisation of the site.

Thames Valley consultancy Lichfields collaborated with West Berkshire Council and local bodies to develop the plans. This project is expected to significantly boost the local economy, contributing £24.5 million during construction and generating an additional £10.3 million annually once fully operational.

Nick Kirby, planning director at Lichfields, stated: “We are delighted to have secured planning permission for Cube Cold’s expansion, which will revitalise a vacant building and bring substantial benefits to the local community.”
