A closed food court is set to be taken over by a new restaurant in Reading town centre.
A closed food court in Reading town centre is set for a new beginning with a takeover by Muskaan Enterprises Ltd.
Previously known as 'The Food Court', located in Oxford Road, faced closure after the liquidation of Maz Foods RG1 earlier this year.
The Food Court opened in 2021, taking over the site of the former Ponden Home store, which had shut down during the pandemic.
Muskaan Enterprises plans to apply for an alcohol licence, allowing sales from 7am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Comments on the application can be sent to licensing@reading.gov.uk by the deadline of Monday, November 17.
While the previous brands—Burger Base, Tuk Tuk Pizza, and Oodles—did not sell alcohol, the proposed licence will introduce this new offering.
The original Ponden Home store closed in 2020 due to its parent company going into administration and was not part of a January 2021 rescue deal for the brand.
