Reading Borough Council has published the full list of candidates for the local elections on Thursday 7 May. If you are voting in person you will need a physical ID; postal voting is also available.
The council has been Labour-controlled since 2010. The vote is across all 16 wards, with an extra vacancy in Caversham Heights. Current councillors: 31 Labour, seven Green, three Conservatives, three Liberal Democrats, councillor Clarence Mitchell (Reform UK, Emmer Green) and cllr Sarah Hacker (Independent, Battle) who is not contesting.
At least four new faces are guaranteed after Labour councillors Jo Lovelock, Deborah Edwards and Sam Juthani stood down. New councillors are therefore certain in Battle, Norcot, Southcote and Caversham Heights.
