Having a dedicated person focused on business development helped the station place greater attention on income generation, local partnerships and long-term financial resilience.
The work supported by the grant has helped B Radio build stronger relationships with the local business community and improve the station’s ability to continue serving Reading.
The grant also supported B Radio’s wider community radio objectives.
During the grant period, B Radio developed sponsored topical content, including awareness-led programming. This created useful on-air content for listeners, including interviews and information-led features.
The work also gave volunteers additional experience in recording and editing interviews.
B Radio also attended more community events, helped local charities become more aware of the station as a platform, and invited them to use B Radio to promote their causes and events.
