We highlight the incredible work of the Prior Scott Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting young people with autism and complex needs. As we celebrate World Autism Acceptance Month, Tomson had the pleasure of speaking with Aimee Kavanagh a key member of their fundraising team, who shared her personal connection to autism and the importance of creating engaging, community-driven fundraising events. She explained that the upcoming Drag Queen Bingo Night, aims not only to entertain but also to raise awareness and funds for essential resources like sensory play equipment for the young people. Amy emphasized the need for understanding and acceptance in the community, noting that many people have misconceptions about autism that can be addressed through education and involvement. As we wrap up this segment, I encourage everyone to engage with learning about autism this month to foster empathy and create more opportunities for these remarkable individuals.
