Plans to add five basement flats at a former office block in Bracknell have been refused over parking concerns. The developer wanted to convert the basement at One The Braccans into five one-bed flats as part of a wider conversion that would bring the building to 31 homes (Bracknell app PA/2026/0578).
The refusal letter stated: "This would create additional demand for parking and also result in a significant reduction in the number of off-road parking spaces and exacerbate existing parking issues in the area."
In North Ascot, a tiny three-bed bungalow in Fernbank Road will be demolished and replaced with two three-bed semi-detached homes with roof dormers after permission was granted (Bracknell app 24/00708/FUL). The Landmark Group won approval and the advert shows the bungalow available to rent for £1,975 per month.
In Wokingham, a couple in Arthur Road, Emmbrook, won permission to extend their three-bed house to add a new garage, a larger ground-floor kitchen and living area, and a fourth bedroom upstairs (Wokingham app 261262).
Detailed plans for 65 homes on 'Parcel N' at Arborfield Green were approved (Wokingham app 252379). The scheme allows for six one-bed maisonnettes, seven two-bed, 19 three-bed, 26 four-bed and seven five-bed homes on land south of Tope Crescent.
