Bracknell Forest Unveils Exciting New Leadership Team

Bracknell Forest council has a new leadership team after an extraordinary council meeting last week.

The new leader says the cabinet has already started working 'at pace' to 'tackle the most pressing issues facing residents.'

An executive member said: "You should see the cabinet now: so much younger. Sad Roy and Mary aren't there but quite exciting in a way."

IN

  • Helen Purnell - Council Leader / Communities. A former police officer and a mum, Cllr Purnell has lived in Bracknell for 40 years;
  • Guy Gillbe - Interim Deputy Leader and deputy chair of the cabinet / Planning, Transport and Countryside;
  • Megan Wright - Children, young people and health. Previously in charge of health, Cllr Wright's portfolio now also includes children's care services;
  • Stephen O'Regan - Finance and Corporate Improvement (new cabinet member);
  • Ryan Frost - Environment and Climate Change (new cabinet member);
  • Paul Bidwell - Oversees Economy and Regeneration;
  • Georgia Pickering - Housing and Communications;

  • Mary Temperton - Well known former teacher, green campaigner and widow of world-renowned mathematician and meteorologist Clive Temperton who invented lots of the maths we use to predict the weather today;
  • Roy Bailey - Former senior police officer and doctor of criminology; Roy Bailey is the father of government minister Olivia Bailey MP.
