Dell House Demolition Approved in Bracknell

The demolition of a huge office building for an American computer business in Bracknell has been given the go-ahead.

Bracknell is set to see the demolition of Dell House, the former European headquarters of Dell. This big move will clear the way for three new commercial buildings, according to recent planning approvals.

Dell House, located on Cain Road, was left empty after the company vacated in July 2022. The demolition was approved during a Bracknell Forest Council planning meeting on November 6, as confirmed by Councillor Tricia Brown.

In related news, planning permission has also been granted for a two-storey extension at Orchard House in Ascot, adding three new flats to the existing seven. Although Winkfield Parish Council initially recommended refusal due to parking concerns, the proposal was updated to include additional spaces, leading to approval on November 10.

Moreover, a carport for a disabled villager in Binfield has been approved, despite it not fully complying with the local design guide. The Wokingham Borough Council recognised that the benefits for the resident justified the decision, which was made on November 3.

Lastly, a historic house in Hare Hatch has received the green light to replace a 1970s breakfast room with a timber conservatory, continuing its renovation that began when the property was restored from dereliction in the 1950s.
