Plans are moving ahead for a major housing and local facilities boost across Berkshire.
Beaufort Park, the site between Bracknell and Crowthorne, is set to grow by 226 homes after Bracknell Forest Council approved the scheme in 2024 (Bracknell apps 25/00003/COND and 25/00004/COND). The Hill Group and Sovereign Network Group have had key construction and phasing details signed off on 10 March. Phase one of 81 homes should be finished next year, with the remaining 145 homes due by 2029.
In Bracknell town, Bracknell Town Council's plans to upgrade the Mill Pond BMX and skate park were approved on 13 March (Bracknell app 25/00133/FUL). The work will add a pump track - a purpose-built, loop-shaped track with rollers and banked turns for bikes, skateboards and scooters - and a "two-man" BMX track.
Wokingham Baptist Church in Milton Road has permission for roof works (Wokingham app 253099). Approved on 12 March, the project replaces part of the atrium roof with a new flat roof after a professional identified leaking due to a design fault. The scheme also includes a roof light and fenestration changes. The main church building is listed and has hosted worship for 251 years.
At Stanlake Park business site in Ruscombe, final approval has been given for two buildings containing 12 flats (Wokingham app 241350). The scheme - one one-bed, nine two-bed and two three-bed flats - was approved at a council meeting last July subject to a section 106 agreement, which was completed on 10 March. The developer agreed to pay £26,065 towards off-site affordable housing elsewhere in the borough.
