A house in Earley will be turned into a childrens home after Wokingham Borough Council approved plans.
The property in Shepherds House Lane will change from a dwellinghouse to a residential home for kids.
It will provide accommodation for up to two children aged between five and 17, with 24-hour care and facilities for staff. No external alterations are proposed.
The application, submitted by Dahnial Sajjad, was approved on October 20.
The permission limits the number of children to two unless the council grants separate permission later. The council said this restriction is in the interests of highway safety and neighbours amenities.
The consent also specifically restricts the property to use as a childrens home rather than other purposes in the same planning category.
Work must start within three years. The council said the application was assessed against relevant planning policies and any representations received. Planning application reference 261947.
