The Reading Green Party celebrated after gaining three councillors from the Labour Party, taking its total to 11 on Reading Borough Council.
Newcomers: Jacqueline Dominguez (Abbey), David Clarke (Thames) and Richard Walkem (Coley).
They join Green incumbents Rob White (Park), Kathryn McCann (Redlands) and Louise Keane (Katesgrove).
Cllr White, leader of the main opposition party on the council, said: "Our councillors will work hard to defend local services and make sure they work efficiently for local people in Reading. Let’s make hope normal again."
The party says it will hold the Labour-run council to account and push for lower bills, more affordable housing and action on congestion and pollution.
