A vacant office at Danehill business park in Lower Earley will be converted into a vet surgery.
Danehill, off Cutbush Lane near Lower Earley Way, has the City Limits offices - two two-storey buildings by the estate entrance.
A ground-floor unit that's been empty since summer 2023 will be leased and fitted out as a modern primary-care veterinary surgery and clinic by independent vet Dr Ravinder Singh Bhullar.
He needed planning permission from Wokingham Borough Council. The council's development management team leader swiftly approved the change because vets and offices fall within the same 'use class' in planning terms.
The reforms to use classes in September 2020 made this sort of switch easier, removing the need for a full planning application in many cases.
The conversion was granted on Thursday, March 26. You can view the application by searching reference 260247 on the council's planning portal.
Danehill is also home to the former Auto Trader office, now replaced by the GEM warehouse building.
