Zara has opened a bigger store on Level 2 at The Oracle Shopping Centre in Reading, completing a years-long project.
It has moved into a larger unit created from the former House of Fraser and the previous Five Guys outlet, and opened on Friday, May 1 with staff selling clothing for all ages.
A post on The Oracle Instagram page states: "Find the bigger and better Zara store on Level 2, in between Joe & The Juice and H&M.
"The perfect spot for your summer shopping."
The move finishes the transformation of the old House of Fraser, which closed in October 2023. TK Maxx opened on the lower level in May last year and Hollywood Bowl followed in July, while Five Guys relocated to the Riverside to clear the way.
Reading Borough Council's planning committee approved a redevelopment in January for the former Debenhams and Vue Cinema building to provide 436 flats and new commercial space.
The first phase will convert Debenhams into a riverside restaurant or bar, a large leisure unit and a public co-working space, plus 218 built-to-rent apartments across two blocks - the tallest 21 storeys, the other eight. Demolition will be required.
The second phase requires complete demolition of the Vue Cinema building to make way for a new cinema and another 218 apartments; Côte Brasserie and Miller & Carter would have to close or relocate.
See planning reference PL/22/1916 for the Debenhams plans and PL/22/1917 for the cinema replacement.
