Pippa Middleton versus the ramblers starts on Thursday.
The row centres on a contested footpath across the couple's Barton Court estate on Mill Lane in Kintbury. Villagers say they have used the route for decades and want it added to the Definitive Map of public rights of way.
Pippa and her husband James Matthews face a public inquiry after installing an electric gate, and their renovation plans have already been delayed by archaeological finds on the estate.
Ramblers UK has hired a barrister and both sides can call witnesses; the hearing is open to the public.
The inquiry takes place at Coronation Hall, Kintbury, on 14 and 15 May, starting at 10am. The inspector is expected to announce a decision some weeks later.
