West Berkshire Launches Affordable Green Home Scheme

West Berkshire Council is working with Switch Together to help residents access affordable green home improvements and reduce their energy bills.

From June, locals can register for Switch Together, which bundles solar panels, battery storage, heat pumps, EV chargers and smarter energy tariffs so people can see what suits their home and budget.

Participants get a tailored recommendation and expert support from registration to installation. The scheme uses group-buying to secure competitive prices and relies on vetted suppliers to keep standards up.

This supports the council's commitment to tackle climate change, cut carbon and help people manage rising energy costs.

Stuart Gourley (Lib Dem, Newbury Clay Hill), executive member for environment and highways said: "Switch Together makes it easier for residents to take practical steps towards greener living."
