Planning is moving on for hundreds of homes on parkland between Bracknell and Crowthorne.
Beaufort Park is one of the biggest local developments, with 226 homes planned. The Hill Group and Sovereign Network Group (SNG) have had required details approved by Bracknell Forest Council (apps PA/2026/0220 and PA/2026/0206).
Approved details cover footpaths, cycleways, the proximity of homes to an existing pipeline, and cycle storage in sheds, garages and lockers. The scheme will remove a tree plantation south of the Evergreens development to make way for the homes.
Crowthorne Parish Council has objected to plans to extend the south Wokingham strategic development location, which could add up to 850 homes, a primary school and more between Easthampstead Road and Old Wokingham Road (Bracknell app PA/2026/0511 / Wokingham app 241933).
Objecting, the parish councils planning committee wrote: “The local road infrastructure is already struggling with the demands of Bucklers Park and Beaufort Park, an additional 200+ houses and flats.
“A further 850 houses on the south Wokingham SDL will be putting more pressure on this area.
“There is no more capacity on the existing road network and infrastructure for additional local housing. The knock-on effect of impact to Crowthorne residents will be a heavily congested conurbation with a choked thoroughfare.”
In town-centre news, Exton Estates has planning permission to replace a two-storey car park at Arlington Square Business Park with a three-storey, energy-efficient commercial building (Bracknell app 25/00651/FUL). A legal agreement to enable the development was signed on July 24.
Wokingham council has also approved plans to convert the Spice Lounge restaurant in Wargrave into flats (Wokingham app 250641). The project involves the conversion of the building into three one-bed and three-bed flats, with a two-bed home being built to the rear.
