Benchmark Seeks New Home at Halfway Farm

Benchmark, the Kintbury furniture maker, has submitted plans to redevelop Halfway Farm, just a few miles from its current facilities.

The new site would bring the team of 60 employees together with shared spaces and aim to strengthen the connection between design and fabrication, fostering greater collaboration and creativity.

"Halfway Farm presents a highly suitable new home for Benchmark, as it comprises a farmstead with buildings of a comparable scale to those at Barton Court," says the application.

"This similarity allows for a development approach that focuses on the retention and restoration of the majority of the existing agricultural structures, supporting both sustainability goals and the preservation of the site's rural character."

The application is before West Berkshire's planners.
