Binfield business plans refused over road safety fears

Plans to approve details for a commercial barn at Mare Lane Business Park, Howe Lane, Binfield, were refused because the access road wouldn't safely handle large vehicles and pedestrians. Vehicle tracking showed two vehicles could not pass on the access road or Howe Lane, and lighting and pedestrian access details were inadequate. The council refused the application on September 10. The site is also subject to other conditions from a June planning appeal that still require information.

Binfield home extension approved

A homeowner at Hungerford Bottom, Forest Road, Binfield, was given permission for major works: a two-storey front extension, a single-storey front extension, a detached open-sided double car port and other alterations. The application by David Howse was approved with conditions on September 8.

Ascot rear extension approved

Single-storey rear extensions at 17 and 19 Goaters Road, Ascot, submitted by P Britten and G Gohal, were approved with conditions on September 8.

Dead pine can be cut down

A large dead Scots pine at Ascot Priory, Priory Road, can be felled after a five-day tree notification. A tree surgeon identified the tree as dead and warned it could endanger pedestrians and vehicles along the Priory Road boundary if it fell; the council approved the work.

Five-bedroom home approved

Wokingham Borough Council approved plans to replace the house at 74 Waterloo Road with a new five-bedroom detached home. The application by Mr and Mrs Petter was approved on September 10.

New signs approved

Two non-illuminated individual letters and three illuminated post-mounted directional signs at Oak Dale on Lower Wokingham Road, Crowthorne, were approved by Wokingham Borough Council on September 8.
