Biryani Lounge, an Indian restaurant and takeaway on Wokingham Road in Reading, has applied to keep serving food and non-alcoholic drinks until 4am each night.
The eatery was opened by four friends in August 2022 and sits in one of the town's busiest shopping areas, home to several food businesses and convenience stores.
They specialise in biryani with halal meats, vegetable curries, Indo-Chinese dishes and more. Food is available for dine-in or takeaway by phone and via Uber Eats.
The owners say the late licence would allow later deliveries. Currently Uber Eats runs from 12pm, finishing at 10.45pm Monday to Saturday and 9.45pm on Sundays.
A statutory consultation on the 4am food sales is live. Take part by emailing licensing@reading.gov.uk - responses close on Tuesday, August 18.
Earlier this year the restaurant was briefly closed by council environmental health officers on January 9, but the owners dealt with the hygiene issue and reopened.
Bhanuchandar Pathakamuri said the team conducted a "comprehensive sanitisation and deep cleaning of the restaurant." He added: "It has been a challenging period for us, but we are relieved and grateful to be able to welcome our customers back."
