West Berkshire Family Placement Team holds its fostering and kinship conference on Friday (May 8) at The Chequers Hotel in Newbury. The hotel gifted space for the conference and a creche for the foster children.
The event kicks off Foster Care Fortnight, the UK's biggest awareness-raising campaign for fostering, and is run by West Berkshire Council's fostering team. The event is on from 10am to 3.30pm.
"We have a local charity called Response who run a wellbeing hub in Thatcham providing us with training around neurodiversity and mental health, run by the associate director of youth Jamie Douglas," said recruitment and publicity officer Beth Francis.
