A decision on plans for up to 850 homes south of Wokingham was delayed after councillors ran out of time at Wokingham Borough Council's planning committee on Wednesday, October 15.
The Priors Farm scheme, recommended for approval by council planning officers, would build up to 850 homes on land west of Old Wokingham Road and north and south of Easthampstead Road. It also includes a community centre, open space, allotments and land for a primary school.
More than 200 objections have been submitted, with residents warning about traffic, pressure on local services, flooding and the loss of countryside. Planning officers say the benefits outweigh the disadvantages and would help address Wokingham's shortage of housing.
No decision was made. The application will be discussed at a future planning committee, likely next month, though a date has not yet been confirmed.
