Drivers Trapped After Laser Show Gate Malfunction

Drivers were stuck leaving Dinton Pastures after a Hollywood Laser Light Show when the main car park gate closed in error.

The show on Sunday (November 1) featured lasers, music from Saxcelerate and the Bracknell & Wokingham Community Band, food and appearances from Darth Vader and The Mandalorian.

Guests struggled to leave as the gate closed and got stuck.

Tee Marie posted on Facebook: "Great show, now everyone is locked in because the gates decided to close!!" "The cars could be there all night ffs!"

Paul King, a photographer who was on the scene, said: "Drivers were trapped in at Dinton Pastures, the gate had closed and got stuck and would not open, so drivers had to reverse up in the dark to get out.m"

The issue was resolved by Wokingham Borough Council's countryside team, which manages the park.

"There was a fault with the exit gate timer at Dinton Pastures following Sunday's event.

"After receiving a call from the team at Dinton, our staff were on site in five minutes to help and direct vehicles through an alternative exit via the overflow car park.

"This was dealt with quickly and visitors were not left waiting 45 minutes.

"We're sorry for any inconvenience caused and hope everyone had a great night."
