A convenience stores application to sell alcohol late-night in a popular student area of Reading has been withdrawn.
Pop Ins on Erleigh Road sits in a busy neighbourhood of terraces that are home to families and students. The shop sells snacks, alcoholic drinks, frozen meals and American sweets.
The business applied to Reading Borough Council to sell alcohol 8am-11pm Monday to Tuesday, until 1am Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am-11pm on Sundays. A statutory consultation was triggered, but a council licensing officer confirmed the application was withdrawn after the consultation closed on Wednesday, April 15.
Pop Ins is currently open 8am-11pm Monday to Saturday, and 8am-10.30pm on Sundays.
If any public comments opposing an application are submitted, it must be decided at a meeting of the council's licensing applications sub-committee.
