Huge new warehouses near the M4 in Reading are almost complete, and one could be taken by a leading car maker.
The Reading International Logistics Park is a group of four units visible when entering Reading from Junction 11 of the M4. It sits opposite Campus Reading International (formerly Reading International Business Park), home to firms including Verizon, AspenTech and Baxter Healthcare.
Built on previously vacant land, work began in August last year and is due to finish on Monday 22 June. Magrock is carrying out the construction.
Unit 1 could be occupied by Tesla after a planning application to Reading Borough Council to use it as a service area with an ancillary showroom.
An agent from ELG Planning said the facility will be mainly for servicing, with a modest showroom of two cars so existing Tesla customers can view new models. The application reference is PL/26/0443 on the council planning portal.
