Reform UK won a small Bracknell by-election yesterday, taking the Forest Park ward on Winkfield Parish Council.
The seat was vacated when Labour councillor Peter Frewer resigned after becoming mayor of Bracknell Forest Borough.
Owen Lake is the new councillor, winning 39 per cent of the vote.
Only four parties stood: Reform UK, the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party. There was no Labour candidate.
The results were: Beaumont (Lib Dem) 254; Jones (Green) 105; Lake (Reform) 305 (ELECTED); Panchal (Conservative) 113.
A poll-of-polls by electoral calculus predicted that if there were a general election tomorrow, Reform UK would be the largest party in the House of Commons with 248 seats, but would not win Bracknell. It puts the Conservatives on 39.3 per cent to Reform's 33.2 per cent, and shows the Conservatives winning every ward in the borough except Great Hollands, which Reform UK would win.
