Fourteen West Berkshire-run primary schools will either close or finish at lunchtime this week because of extreme hot weather.
A red heat health alert is in force across the South East for Wednesday and Thursday.
Parents should check with schools and academy trusts, but so far only two are fully closed. John Rankin Infant and Nursery School and Junior School - part of Maiden Erlegh Trust - will be closed on Wednesday 24 June and Thursday 25 June.
Beenham Primary says opening hours are restricted from today (Tuesday) to Thursday 25 June. Brimpton Primary School is closing at 1pm each day. Bucklebury will close at 1pm on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June. Pangbourne Primary School will close at 12.30pm.
Chaddleworth St Andrew's Church of England Primary School remains open but parents can collect children from noon if they wish. Shefford Church of England Primary School is also open but parents may collect from noon.
Englefield Church of England Primary School remains open but parents may collect from 1pm. Falkland Primary School and Long Lane Primary School allow collection from 1.15pm.
Springfield Primary School remains open and parents may collect after afternoon registration. Streatley Church of England Voluntary Controlled School is open and parents may be able to collect from 1pm. The same applies for Sulhamstead and Ufton Nervet Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School.
