Wingstop's new Reading Gate restaurant could get EV chargers after its owners applied to install 12 Instavolt points in the retail park car park (PL/25/1752). The plan would add nine standard and three accessible bays, plus a 20 ft storage container, and remove about 26 parking spaces. Chargers would serve Wingstop customers and visitors to other shops, including KFC and B&Q.
New nail bar approved (PL/25/1690). A unit just off Caversham Road at the York Road junction will become a nail salon, replacing Orien Health. Planning officer Huimin Chen said the changes were modest, so permission was granted on 10 April. Subdivision work also creates space for a locksmith.
House confirmed as HMO (PL/25/1168). A terraced house in Cholmeley Road was ruled an HMO after the owner showed it has been three self-contained flats for more than four years: a two-bed ground-floor flat, a first-floor studio and a one-bed loft flat. The owner got the legal certificate; Streetview from May last year shows CCTV at the property.
Home extension approved (PL/25/1472). On Windermere Road, the owner won permission for a single-storey rear extension where a garage once stood, to create a new kitchen and a front porch. The existing kitchen will become a dining room.
