Woodley Councillor Kester Bey Joins Greens

Woodley councillor Kester Charles Bey has joined the Green Party, becoming the town council's second Green alongside Majid Nagra. He had been sitting as an independent councillor for Bulmershe Ward after leaving Labour in 2024; he was elected as a Labour councillor in 2023.

Cllr Bey said: "What attracted me to the Green Party was its common-sense
principles that relate to people.

"The policies are achievable and reflect the views of the people, which is our job as councillors.

"I’m proud to represent a party that supports diversity of nationality in our communities."

Wokingham Green Party leader Gary Shacklady added: "We are delighted and proud to welcome Kester as a member of our party and as our second Green councillor on Woodley Town Council.

"This shows that we are attracting experienced, well-respected and popular
councillors to our party, who share our values and our vision for a cleaner, fairer and safer local area."

Mr Shacklady was the Green candidate for the Earley and Woodley constituency during the 2024 general election.
