Crowthorne Restaurant Closes After One-Star Rating

Cumin Garden, on Dukes Ride in Crowthorne, has temporarily closed after getting a one-star food hygiene rating.

The Bangladeshi and Indian restaurant has been shut since August. Its website says "Temporarily closed - reopening soon."

An inspection on July 1 gave it one out of five. The report said "major improvement necessary" in the cleanliness and condition of the building and facilities.

Inspectors flagged problems with layout, ventilation, hand-washing facilities and pest control. They also said food handling needed improvement, including preparation, cooking, reheating, cooling and storage.

The management of food safety was described as "generally satisfactory". The inspector said they were generally satisfied that staff understood food safety.

The inspection was carried out on behalf of Bracknell Forest Council. The Local Democracy Reporting Service has contacted the restaurant's owners for comment, and it is not known when Cumin Garden will reopen.

The restaurant normally opens seven days a week from 17:00 to 23:00.
