Funky Pottery Painting Opens in Bracknell!

Funky Pottery Painting opens in Bracknell town centre's Princess Square on 16 October, taking over the former Craft Coop unit in The Lexicon.

Owner Relin Amarga, 45, from Ascot, said opening the shop was a "dream come true" after years of running pottery-painting events and launching a mobile business during the Covid pandemic. She first discovered pottery painting while taking her daughter to sessions as a child.

Customers can pick pottery to decorate before it is fired in a kiln, and the shop will also offer make-your-own teddy bear experiences.

Ms Amarga said: "I really enjoy pottery painting. It is so relaxing, your mind is just free. If you are painting with your family, friends or children, it is lovely to have that quality time together."

Paul Bidwell, Bracknell Forest Council's cabinet member for economy and regeneration, welcomed the arrival. He said: "Pottery is quite unusual. We want unusual, we want different types of small businesses."

Ms Amarga acknowledged the risk of going independent, saying: "It is always going to be scary opening your own business, but at the same time I know this is what I want to do," she said. Funky Pottery Painting will hold a soft opening on 10 October before officially opening on 16 October.
