Lidl has confirmed plans for a new supermarket in Bracknell town centre on the former Odeon cinema, Hollywood Bowl and Pizza Hut site off Skimped Hill Lane and is preparing a planning application.
The German retailer has launched a public consultation on the proposals, which it says would create around 40 jobs.
Lidl aims to submit its planning application in June or July, with a decision expected later this year and a hoped opening in 2027 or 2028, subject to approval.
The company says staff would start on at least £13.45 an hour, rising to £14.45 with length of service, and the store would include two electric vehicle charging bays.
Bracknell Forest councillor Paul Bidwell welcomed the plans and the ongoing engagement between the council and Lidl, saying Bracknell is a good place to do business and he looks forward to welcoming them.
The site would be close to a large Morrissons in the Peel Centre, a short walk from Waitrose and Marks & Spencer off Western Roundabout, and near a possible new Aldi on the former Homebase site.
