Jollibee on Broad Street in Reading could stay open until 3am if a late-night sales bid is approved, potentially staying open four hours later than now.
The Filipino chicken chain has been in Broad Street since September 2021 and is known for fried chicken, burgers, spaghetti and its peach mango pie. The franchise has applied to Reading Borough Council to sell food until 3am each night; it currently opens 9am-11pm.
A statutory consultation is live - you can comment at licensing@reading.gov.uk. The deadline for responses closes on Wednesday, September 9. The unit was previously occupied by Artigiano cafe and bar and the Broad Street Bar and Kitchen, which closed in May 2019.
