Plans could see homes built near the Best Western Moat House Hotel on Mill Lane, Sindlesham, on the outskirts of Reading. The hotel has been closed since 2020 and was used to house asylum seekers.
Land to the south has been put forward in a 'call for sites' as part of Wokingham Borough Council's Local Plan 2045.
One site off Mill Lane, between the Moat House and the River Loddon, is suggested for six homes and a storage container. The site is grassland north of the single-file bridge over the Loddon (site ref 6EA103).
South of the river a land promoter has proposed up to nine homes and converting Avenue House into specialist housing (site ref 6WI104).
Both appear on the council's interactive map and in the Local Plan 2045 materials under those site references.
A scoping consultation is live on the Engage Wokingham website and open for comments until 1:59pm on Monday, November 16.
