TeamSport Go Karting in Reading has applied to sell alcohol until midnight and play recorded music at its venue.
It has operated in Reading since December 2014. In 2023 it underwent a £1.35 million revamp that introduced electric karts and the 'Combat Kart' virtual experience.
The company has applied to sell alcohol from 12pm to midnight each day, and to play recorded music weekdays 9am-midnight and Saturdays and Sundays 7am-midnight. The application was submitted to Reading Borough Council.
A statutory consultation is live. Email licensing@reading.gov.uk to respond - the deadline is Tuesday, September 15. The bid appears on the council's 'current premises licence applications' webpage.
There is a possible address mix-up: the application lists 80 Broad Street, which is occupied by the Chopstix Noodle Bar, while the go-karting has always operated from Cradock Road in Whitley. It is unclear if this is an error; the council's licensing team has been contacted for clarification.
